Terrapins’ Lorusso named Player of the Week; Illini’s Kirschsieper earned Pitcher of the Week; Hawkeyes’ Anthony tabbed Freshman of the Week
Player of the Week
Nick Lorusso, Maryland

• Went 9-for-18 with 13 RBI, two home runs, seven runs, five walks and a stolen base in five games last week for the Terrapins
• Collected six RBI, including a three-run home run, against Towson on March 29, before following up with a hit and an RBI against George Mason the following day
• Ended the week going 5-for-9 with one home run and six RBI to help Maryland take the series against Penn State, 2-1
• Wins his first career Big Ten Player of the Week award

Pitcher of the Week
Cole Kirschsieper, Illinois
LHP – So. – Frankfort, Ill. – Lincoln-Way East
• Threw 7.0 scoreless innings to lead Illinois to a series-opening win over Purdue on April 1
• Allowed just three hits and struck out nine while limiting the Boilermakers to a batting average of .136
• Improved to 5-2 on the season with an ERA of 2.49 and 45 strikeouts in 43.1 innings pitched
• The Academic All-Big Ten honoree wins his first career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week award

Freshman of the Week
Keaton Anthony, Iowa
UTIL – Hoschton, Ga. – Mill Creek
• Went 6-for-13 (.462) with at least one hit in all three games against Michigan to help the Hawkeyes take the series 2-1
• Posted a .500 on-base and .769 slugging percentage on the weekend
• Went 2-for-3 with a double in game two before finishing 3-for-5 with a team-best four RBI in the finale to give Iowa its first road series win in Ann Arbor since 2015
• Wins his third Big Ten Freshman of the Week award
