South Bend, Ind. The Holy Cross College women’s soccer team returned to CCAC play this morning when they took on Governors State University at TCU School Field. The Saints were able to score early after Marijka Lynch-Pastoor was able to clean up a goalie deflection in the 4th minute. Governors State tied the game up 1-1 in the 9th minute, but Lauren Cernak gave the Saints a 2-1 halftime lead with an unassisted goal in the 40th minute. Holy Cross would extend their lead in the second half with a Sara Cernugel goal from Olivia Shaw and a header by Taelyn Hendrickson. The Saints would go on to win 4-1. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while Governors State falls to 0-2 and 02.

South Bend, IN.  The Holy Cross College men’s soccer took on Governors State University this afternoon in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at TCU School Field. After 45 minutes of action, neither team was able to come away with any goals. Late in the second half, Jeff Rafter failed to connect on a penalty kick and Governors State was able to score a few minutes later in the 62nd minute. That goal would stand for the remainder, as the Saints would fall 1-0. With the loss, Holy Cross stands at 2-3-1 overall and 0-3 in league play, while GSU improves to 2-2 and 2-0.
