Davenport, Iowa.  The Holy Cross women’s basketball returned to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play when they traveled to St. Ambrose University. The Saints jumped out to an early 11-0 lead to start the game before SAU would battle back, but the Saints controlled a 13-10 advantage after the first. Beginning the second quarter, the Saints would extend their lead to 20-12 with a little over seven minutes remaining in the quarter. Both teams struggled offensively those remaining minutes as the game would enter halftime with the Saints up 26-21. After a back and forth battle in the third quarter, Holy Cross would have a 39-34 lead heading into the final quarter. Midway through the fourth St. Ambrose would tie the game up 43-43, but the Saints would out score the Bees 18-11 in the final five minutes to take the 61-54 victory. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 14-13 overall and 9-11 in league play, while SAU stands at 24-3 and 17-3.

 

During the game, junior guard scored her 1,000 career point and became the seventh Holy Cross College women’s basketball player in program history to achieve this distinction.
