Richmond, Ind. The Holy Cross College men’s soccer team took on Indiana University East on the road this afternoon in a non-conference matchup. IUE was able to score first and take the 1-0 lead 16 minutes into the match. An onslaught of HC offensive attacks late in the first half produced three unanswered goals, as the Saints would take a 3-1 lead heading into halftime. Holy Cross continued the offensive dominance in the second half, scoring three more unanswered goals. The Saints would cruise to a 6-1 victory over IU East. Gabe Nyenka recorded a hat trick in the victory with goals coming in the 22nd, 33rd, and 53rd minutes. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 1-1, while IUE stands at 0-2-1.
