Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College men’s soccer hosted the Gray Wolves of Lourdes University. This would be the Saints last non-conference game before they began Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. HC had a career 1-0 record vs Lourdes heading into today’s matchup. Juan Perez gave the Saints an early 1-0 lead with a goal coming in the 9th minute of action. Lourdes was able to score a goal of their own in the 25th minute, as the match would enter halftime tied 1-1. Forty-one seconds into the second half, Cliff Brown was able to find the back of the net on a deflection to give HC the 2-1 lead. Despite playing a man down for most of the second half, Holy Cross was able to hang on to that lead and come away with the 2-1 victory. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 3-1, while Lourdes stands at 3-2.
