Davenport, Iowa. The Holy Cross College men’s basketball team traveled to St. Ambrose this afternoon in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Saints controlled a small lead for most of the first half, but the Bees were able to tie the game up 25-25 with just over five minutes remaining in the half. Holy Cross would score on their last eight consecutive offensive possessions to take a 47-40 lead entering halftime. Midway through the second half, the Saints would increase their lead to 15 points, but SAU would cut the HC lead to 74-69 with just under five minutes to play. The Holy Cross defense would hold the Bees to just four points, those last five minutes, to come away with the 86-73 victory. With the win, men’s basketball improves to 12-16 overall and 7-13 in conference play, while SAU falls to 12-15 and 9-11.
