Grace ‘s Davidson named NAIA National Player of the Week
WINONA LAKE, Ind. – Frankie Davidson completed the trifecta of weekly awards on Tuesday when he was named the NAIA Player of the Week for Grace’s men’s basketball team.
For the past three weeks, Davidson has been named the Crossroads League Player of the Week. For the past two weeks, he has also been the NCCAA Player of the Week.
This week, he won all three awards from the NAIA, NCCAA and CL.
Davidson scored 35 points in an 83-69 upset of No. 1 St. Francis. He also reached double figures in No. 13 Grace’s road win at Bethel. For the week he averaged 26.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
His efforts have helped lead Grace to its best start (11-0) since the 1991-92 season, including an upset last week of No. 1 USF.
Davidson is the first NAIA Player of the Week for the men’s team since Brandon Vanderhegghen won the honor on Jan. 12, 2016.
Grace will hit the road on Wednesday, traveling to St. Xavier for an 8 p.m. (ET) tipoff.
