Crossroads League Has Strong Showing in Latest Directors’ Cup Standings
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The updated Learfield Directors’ Cup NAIA Standings for the 2021-2022 year were released on Thursday, following the conclusion of the winter sports championships. The Crossroads League took the top-two spots in those standings with Indiana Wesleyan and Marian leading all NAIA schools.
In all, the Crossroads League saw seven teams ranked inside the top-55 in the nation, with Indiana Wesleyan (1st), Marian (2nd), Huntington (31st), Bethel (37th), Grace (40th), Taylor (49th) and Saint Francis (55th) leading the way.
The Crossroads League was the only league in the NAIA with two teams inside the top-five, and joined the Mid-South Conference and Great Plains Athletic Conference as the only leagues to place seven schools inside the top-55.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Institutions are awarded points based on finishes from their respective teams at NAIA National Championship events and tournaments.
