Crossroads League Announces Men’s Soccer Award Winners
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its 2021 Men’s Soccer All-League Team on Monday, following RV Bethel backing up its 2021 Crossroads League Championship in the regular season with the CL Tourney crown on Saturday.
Bethel’s Joao de Oliveira claimed the Crossroads League’s top honor, earning CL Player-of-the-Year recognition, with BU’s head coach, Thiago Pinto, claiming CL Coach-of-the-Year honors.
The Crossroads League’s remaining top honors included James Jenkins of Marian being named the CL Offensive Player of the Year, James Lighton of Huntington being named the CL Defensive Player of the Year, Ze Maria Goncalves of Grace being selected the CL Midfielder of the Year and Grace’s Martim Cardoso being voted the CL Newcomer of the Year.
In addition to those major honors, 22 student-athletes were named as Crossroads League First-Team selections, with 14 others taking home Crossroads League Honorable Mention honors.
The All-Crossroads League awards are voted on by the CL’s head men’s soccer coaches.
