CHRISTmas 2021                  An Attitude of Gratitude-“Thankfulness”

A couple of years ago I heard one of the pastors preach on 2 Chronicles 7:14

14) If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

With all that social unrest and political divineness going on in our great country, I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to make a commitment to pray daily for our great country and those who serve and protect it.

So every day, Tonya sets her alarm to 7:14 AM to remind us, that we can all do our part by praying for revival in America. I don’t know about you, but I am so grateful to GOD that I grew up in the greatest country in the history of mankind.

As we started our prayer journey together we noticed that each and every day, how much we are thankful for.  We developed a tremendous attitude of gratitude.

Our thankfulness mindset also takes the sting out of adversity.  That is why God instructed us to give thanks for everything. There is an element of mystery in this transaction: When you give HIM thanks (regardless of your feelings), and HE will give you Joy (regardless of your circumstances).

This is a spiritual act of obedience—at times, blind obedience. To people who don’t know GOD intimately, it can seem irrational and even impossible to thank HIM for heartrending hardships. Nonetheless, those who obey HIM in this way are invariably blessed, even though difficulties may remain.

Thankfulness opens your heart to God’s Presence and your mind to HIS thoughts. You may still be in the same place, with the same set of circumstances, but it is as if a light has been switched on, enabling you to see from HIS perspective. It is this Light of HIS Presence that removes the sting from adversity.

We have been chosen so that we may follow Jesus and be active, growing, fruit-bearing disciples who bless other people. This is the natural outcome of the Christian life: when the life of God is in you, the life of God will flow through you with an attitude of gratitude.

Dear friends…we are most thankful for you and it is our prayer that your CHRISTmas and the upcoming new year will be filled with love, grace, mercy, and gratitude.

MERRY CHRISTmas! And God’s Blessings always…

Paul and Tonya Condry
