• Wisconsin sits atop the Big Ten standings with a 14-4 record in conference play. Purdue and Illinois are right behind at 13-5, while Ohio State follows with an 11-6 record.

• The Big Ten has a nation-leading six teams ranked in the top 25 polls this week. Purdue leads the league at No. 8 in the AP poll and No. 9 in the USA Today poll, followed by No. 10/10 Wisconsin, No. 20/17 Illinois, No. 23/23 Ohio State, and No. 24/25 Iowa. Michigan State is also ranked No. 25 in the USA Today poll and is among the teams receiving votes in the AP poll.

• As of Feb. 27, the Big Ten has eight teams in the top 44 of the NCAA NET Rankings, including five of the top 21, both marks are the most of any league. Purdue leads the conference at No. 12, followed by No. 14 Illinois, No. 18 Iowa, No. 20 Ohio State, No. 21 Wisconsin, No. 33 Michigan State, No. 37 Michigan, and No. 44 Indiana.

• The Big Ten is one of only three conferences with at least 100 wins against Quadrant 1 and Quadrant 2 opponents and has played 235 games against Q1 and Q2 teams, the second-most of any league.

• A national-best eight Big Ten squads are among the top 42 of KenPom’s Feb. 27 ratings. Purdue leads the league at No. 13, followed by No. 15 Iowa, No. 16 Illinois, No. 23 Ohio State, No. 27 Wisconsin, No. 34 Michigan State, No. 38 Michigan, and No. 42 Indiana.

• In Joe Lunardi’s Feb. 25 Bracketology, the Big Ten has four teams projected as top-four seeds, the most of any conference. Purdue (No. 2 seed), Wisconsin (No. 3 seed), Illinois (No. 4 seed), and Ohio State (No. 4 seed) are all projected as top-four seeds. Iowa is projected as a No. 6 seed, while Michigan State (No. 7 seed), Michigan (No. 10 seed), Rutgers (No. 10 seed), and Indiana (No. 12 seed) are all projected to be in the field, giving the Big Ten a nation-leading nine total teams in the latest Bracketology report.

• Iowa sophomore forward Keegan Murray was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday. Murray averaged 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 block, and 1.0 steal per game in Iowa’s two victories last week.

• Ohio State guard Malaki Branham was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday. Branham averaged 23.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 0.3 steals per game in three games last week.
