In Knox’s 28-21 win over Angola for a Class 3A regional championship on November 14, Myles McLaughlin scored four touchdowns to become the national leader for touchdowns in a season. He now has 71 scores for the season, breaking the previous mark of 68 touchdowns, previous held by Charlie Spegal of New Palestine (Indiana) in 2017 and T.A. McLendon of Albemarle (North Carolina) in 2001. McLaughlin also ran 53 times for 372 yards and currently has 4,768 yards, which breaks the national mark for yards in a season previously held by Dominick Bragalone of South Williamsport (Pennsylvania) with 4,704 yards. He now has 11,761 career yards, which is 363 yards short of the national record held by Derek Henry of the Baltimore Ravens, who had 12,124 career yards.
Concord’s Nathan Potter drilled a 48-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Minutemen to a 47-45 win over Lafayette Jeff in a Class 5A regional finale.
In Carroll’s (Fort Wayne) 41-30 win over Penn in a Class 6A regional final, the two clubs combined for more than 1,000 total yards of offense. Gabe Frisinger of Carroll finished 21-of-34 for 424 yards with two touchdowns and ran 24 times for 102 yards with another score.
Gibson Southern will have to play Saturday’s Class 3A southern semistate contest at Cascade without quarterback Zach Foster, who suffered a season-ending leg injury in the Titans’ 42-14 win over Indian Creek in a regional contest.
Saint Joseph’s 10-7 win over Hobart in a Class 4A regional final was the Huskies’ 500th win in program history.
Tony Klimczak has ended his one-year stint at Portage, posting an 0-10 record with the Indians.
Salem will have a new field general in 2026 with the departure of Roger Pennington, who went 4-6 in his lone campaign with the Lions. Pennington stepped in when Brian Glesing was forced to step aside for health reasons.
South Newton and Brad Bevis have parted ways after he posted a 22-75 mark over 10 years with the Rebels.
T.J. Ragan has stepped down at Seeger after going 27-16 in his four years with the Patriots.
After going 31-26 over five years, Mount Vernon’s (Fortville) Vince Lidy has submitted his resignation. He led the Marauders to the 2021 Class 4A state championship.
Perry Meridian’s Kevin Miller has departed after going 2-8 in his only season with the Falcons.
Adam Berry picked up his 100th career victory with the Panthers’ 34-14 decision over LaVille.
Cascade and Lapel both earned its first regional championship.
Providence’s run as Class 1A state champions ended with a 22-7 loss to Milan.
Defending Class 5A state champion Decatur Central’s seven-game post-season winning streak came to close with 47-23 loss to defending Class 6A state champ Brownsburg.
Brownstown Central, Cascade and Lapel are 13-0 for the first time in program history.
