SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend women’s basketball team rode the wave past Calumet College of St Joseph, scoring a season-high as the Titans defeated the Crimson Wave, 107-73 on Feb. 12 inside the Student Activities Center for Titan Birthday Bash. With the victory, the Titans earn their fourth game in a row to improve to 23-5 overall, and 15-5 in the Chicagoland Colligate Athletic Conference.

Six different Titans scored in double figures, freshman Katie Gard who led the offense with 17 points off 6-of-8 shooting. Senior Kyleigh Kubik chipped in 15 points while junior Courtney Raymer added 15 points and six rebounds. Senior Taylor Wesley and freshman Maddie Gard scored 13 points. The last Titan to score in double digits was freshman Emma Fisher with 11.

The Titans started off hot, outscoring the Crimson Wave 10-0 in the first 2:57 of the game to end the first quarter 33-9. IU South Bend extended its lead by 30 going into the break, up 64-34 after Rachael Robards scored from behind the arc with an assist from Taitlyn Trenshaw.

IUSB controlled the game from wire-to-wire, leading by as many as 43 points. As a team, the Titans went 35-of-62 (56.5 percent) from the floor and 12-of-23 (52.2 percent) from distance. The Crimson and Cream forced 23 turnovers and turned the miscues into 30 points. The Titans defense held the Crimson Wave to 23-of-57 from the floor and 5-of-17 from behind the three-point line.

The Titans hit the road for one last time in the regular-season, traveling to Milwaukee, Wisc. to face Cardinal Stritch University on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 P.M. (EST). IU South Bend will host No. 8 Saint Xavier University on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1:00 P.M. inside the Student Activities Center to honor its two seniors Kyleigh Kubik and Taylor Wesley.
